Cashmere

A rare fabric, born from nature and perfected by man

Cashmere is one of the world's most prized fabrics. Soft, light, and incredibly warm, it has for centuries represented the meeting of extreme nature, craftsmanship, and discreet luxury . It's not a passing fad, but a quality choice destined to last.

How cashmere is born

Cashmere comes from the undercoat of the Hircus goat , raised in areas with harsh climates and strong temperature variations, such as Mongolia , Tibet and the Kashmir region.

To protect itself from the intense cold, the goat develops a very fine and light internal fleece: it is precisely this fibre, harvested only once a year , that gives rise to cashmere.

From each animal, only 150–200 grams of pure fiber are obtained: a fact that explains its rarity and value.

The history of cashmere

The name “cashmere” comes from the Kashmir region, where over 500 years ago very fine shawls were made for nobles and sovereigns.
In the 18th century, cashmere arrived in Europe, becoming a symbol of refinement and distinction in the French and English courts.

Even today, wearing cashmere means choosing a timeless elegance, far from the logic of fast consumption.

The properties of cashmere

Cashmere is appreciated for its unique characteristics:

  • Extraordinary softness
Pleasant on the skin, ideal even for those with high sensitivity.

  • Natural heat
Up to 8 times warmer than wool , while remaining extremely light.

  • Breathability
It regulates body temperature, avoiding the “suffocating” effect.

  • Durability
If worked and maintained correctly, it lasts for many years and even improves over time.

Cashmere processing

Cashmere processing is a long and delicate process:

  1. Manual harvesting
The fiber is hand-combed during the spring moult, without stressing the animal.

  2. Selection and cleaning
Only the longest and thinnest fibers are preserved.

  3. Spinning
It transforms the fiber into a strong, uniform thread.

  4. Weaving or knitting
Artisan tradition and technology meet to create garments of the highest quality.

Each stage requires time, experience and attention to detail .

Cashmere: a conscious choice

For a mature audience, cashmere represents much more than a fabric:

  • it is an investment in quality

  • it is daily comfort

  • it is a sober and authentic style

  • it is respect for materials and workmanship

Choosing cashmere means privileging what lasts, enhancing the pleasure of wearing something truly special.
